New partnership introduces a “coherence layer” designed to make enterprise AI systems actually reliable
The two companies announced a partnership to introduce what they call a “coherence layer” for enterprise AI - an infrastructure designed to ensure that agents operate on consistent, governed inputs before making informed and consistent decisions and/or emissions.
At the center of the integration is Source’s DefraDB, which now powers Rainfall’s ingestion and normalization layer. Instead of letting raw data and external signals directly influence outcomes, the system converts them into structured, governed units; Actors and Execution Units, before they enter the decision loop.
The goal: eliminate the unpredictability that has held back agentic AI in real-world environments.
“Enterprises don’t just need more AI, they need AI that behaves predictably,” said Amit Pradhan, CEO of Rainfall.

The companies say early deployments are already underway in sectors like mobility, finance, and supply chains, areas where multiple agents must coordinate decisions without breaking consistency.
The broader bet: the next phase of AI won’t be won by better models alone, but by the infrastructure that makes them work together without creating chaos.
